How it Works

About the Treatment

The treatment is an hour long and includes the following:

  • Aqua cleansing and exfoliation: to leave the skin smoother, cleaner and exfoliated.
  • H2 infusion: to neutralize free radicals, reducing inflammation and preventing premature aging, and to prepare the skin for deeper nutrient absorption from serums.
  • Electroporation: this technique uses a tiny electrical field applied to cells, to temporarily boost permeability of the cell membrane, and enhance penetration of serums.
  • Muscle massage and stimulation: using ultrasonic waves to promote cellular renewal and stimulate collagen production, which further enhances skin tone, elasticity, and smoothness.
Contraindications

The treatment is safe and effective for most individuals, but the following people should not have this treatment:

  • pregnant or nursing patients
  • patients with pacemakers
  • patients with epilepsy; muscular/neurologic diseases like multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy, and Parkinson’s disease; or patients who have facial paralysis (e.g. from a stroke or Bell’s palsy)
  • patients who are currently being treated for cancer (e.g. radiation, chemotherapy)
  • patients with orthopedic implants (e.g. hip, shoulder or knee replacements)
  • patients with uncontrolled diabetes

If you have dental implants, please let your technician know – your treatment may need to be modified.

Precautions and Warnings
  • The skin may appear red for a few hours after treatment – this is normal and expected.
  • If you have telangectasias (small visible blood vessels) in your facial skin, they may look more apparent after treatment – this is temporary only.
  • During treatment, electric stimulation will be applied to the skin. Sometimes people feel involuntary muscle contractions and a pins-and-needles type sensation.
  • Do not use glycolic acid, AHA, or retinol/retinoid products (including prescription tretinoin, adapalene, tazarotene or trifarotene) for 3 days before the treatment.
  • Protect your skin from the sun – use a sunscreen with a high SPF. This is especially important for two weeks after treatment.
  • If you ever develop cold sore outbreaks, please tell your provider – a cold sore outbreak can increase the risk of scars or discoloration. You may need to be pre-treated with antiviral medication.
  • If you have been on isotretinoin (Accutane, Epuris, Absorica LD) treatment, wait one month after finishing the medication to do this treatment.
  • If you have had filler or neuromodulator treatment (e.g. Botox, Dysport, Xeomin, Juvederm, Restylane, Sculptra, Radiesse or similar), wait two weeks before doing this treatment.
