Microneedling

Microneedling is a minimally invasive treatment that stimulates collagen and elastin production to improve skin texture, reduce fine lines, and minimize acne scars. This rejuvenating procedure leaves the skin smoother, firmer, and more radiant with little downtime.

About MICRONEEDLING

Microneedling is a natural way to wake up your skin’s own healing power! Using ultra-fine needles, this treatment stimulates collagen and elastin production to smooth texture, soften fine lines, fade scars, and restore your radiant glow. Safe, gentle, and with little downtime, microneedling helps your skin look healthier, firmer, and more youthful—naturally.

For best results, multiple sessions may be recommended, along with maintenance treatments 1–3 times per year.

Safety & what you should know

The Comfort Of The Procedure

The treatment is well-tolerated and performed with a topical numbing cream to ensure comfort. Most patients describe the sensation as a light vibration or tingling. The procedure typically takes 30–45 minutes, and mild redness—similar to a sunburn—usually fades within 24–48 hours.

Precautions & Contraindications
  • Discontinue the use of glycolic acid, AHAs, and retinol/retinoid products at least 24 hours before treatment.
  • Micro-needling cannot be performed on areas with active acne, rosacea, piercings, open wounds, or other inflammatory skin conditions.
  • You must not have used isotretinoin (Accutane, Epuris, Absorica, Clarus) within the past month.
  • Individuals with active cold sores or facial outbreaks will not be treated.
  • Treatment may not be performed on tanned or sunburned skin, depending on severity.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise and excessive sweating for 72 hours after treatment.
  • Avoid direct sun exposure for two weeks following treatment.

Possible Risks, Side Effects or Complications
  • If you have ever had a cold sore, you must take an antiviral medication starting the day before treatment to prevent an outbreak. A cold sore during treatment could spread and cause permanent scarring. Please inform your aesthetician if you have a history of cold sores so that a doctor can prescribe the necessary medication. If you suspect you may be developing a cold sore within a week of treatment, contact the office immediately.
  • Individuals with darker skin tones may experience temporary changes in pigmentation, either darkening (hyperpigmentation) or lightening (hypopigmentation), which can last weeks to months. In rare cases, these changes may be permanent.
  • You may experience temporary redness, peeling, inflammation, itching, or burning for several days after treatment.
  • Rarely some patients develop a rash called folliculitis in the treated areas (which looks like tiny pimples). This is is easily treated with a topical antibiotic which the doctor can prescribe for you.
Aftercare

Immediately after treatment:

  • First 4 hours: avoid touching the treated area.
  • After 4 hours: you may gently apply a cold compress or rinse with cold water if needed.
  • Mild redness or sensitivity is normal and may last a few days.

24 hours after treatment: you may resume your regular face-washing routine.

  • Makeup, lotions and other topical products can be applied, but avoid exfoliants or acids as they may cause irritation or dryness.

48 hours after treatment: your skin may feel dry and start to flake due to increased cell turnover.

  • To keep your skin hydrated, Dr. Neagoe recommends Vivier Hexam cleanser, Lexxel moisturizers, HLA and Vivier Sheer SPF.
  • Avoid excessive heat exposure, including hot showers, steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs and intense exercise.

3-5 days after treatment: peeling may begin. Keep your skin well moisturized using a good quality moisturizer.

1-2 weeks after treatment: you can resume your full regular skincare routine once your skin has fully healed, which may take up to a week.

  • Avoid direct sun exposure. If spending time outdoors, apply SPF 30 or higher
